Our cruises and cruise line recommendations

After sailing for many years, we are often asked what cruise itineraries and cruise lines we like the most and for what reasons.
There is no easy answer to that, as everybody has different preferences, but below sums it up quite nicely what are our top 10 cruise itineraries and what cruise lines do not disappoint for various reasons.

In no particular order, our top 10 cruises you might want to add to your list:

01. Norwegian Fjords
02. The Mediterranean
03. Alaska
04. Panama Canal
05. Nova Scotia/New England
06. Vietnam
07. French Polynesia
08. Atlantic Crossing
09. South America Circumnavigation
10. World Cruise

We personally experienced them all and would be very happy to advise you on your next cruise to one of these, or any other destination.

Cruise lines we recommend depending on some basic preferences:

"If I would like to go on a very luxury, all inclusive cruise on a very relaxed and small ship"
Seadream Yacht Club, Windstar Cruises, Scenic Ocean Cruises, Ritz-Carlton Yacht Collection

"No expenses spared, I want the best of the best"
Seadream Yacht Club, Silversea Cruises, Regent Seven Seas, Seabourn Cruise Line.

"I am looking for the best value in the top premium market; basically a cheaper version of Regent or Silversea"
Oceania Cruises, Azamara and Viking Ocean Cruises
Oceania Cruises is known for its fantastic food and service and is hands down the best luxury deal.
Azamara, if itinerary is more important to you, as they have more overnight stays.
Viking Ocean Cruises is one of the "new kids on the block"; an absolutely superb product, great prices, lots of inclusions, fantastic food, service and itineraries.

"I always wanted to try a river cruise"

There are many options available, but we do like Viking River Cruises. Flights are included from the UK, wonderful new ships, great onboard product delivery and lovely itineraries. One tour is included in every port, onboard WiFi and wine & beer during meal hours! :)

"I would love to try a luxury Exploration/Expedition cruise"
There are more and more cruise lines offering luxury expeditions. You surely cannot go wrong with Silversea Expeditions or with one of Scenic's Discovery Yachts.

"I always wanted to see French Polynesia"
There is only one way to see it and that's with Paul Gauguin Cruises.

"Cruising from or to New York on a crossing for some shopping"
Onboard Cunard's Queen Mary 2, of course. Here is some further information.

"As a Brit who likes to cruise with fellow Brits and have my children with me"
P&O Cruises, especially the larger vessels with great kids clubs.

"I would like to treat my family on a cruise; my parents might come as well"
Norwegian Cruise Line's new ships come to mind first. You can never go wrong with
Disney Cruises for Old and Young alike. Holland America Line (especially the newer ships, Eurodam, Nieuw Amsterdam and Koningsdam) caters very well to multi-generational families.

"I like big ships, resort style holidays, with or without children"
Big ship lines, like Celebrity Cruises, Royal Caribbean Cruises, MSC, Carnival Cruises, Princess Cruises and NCL will fit the bill.

"I like a traditional cruise experience with international flair and some dressing up"
Cunard Line will be the right choice for you. One of our all-time favourite!

"I like children, but not when I cruise..."
P&O Cruises has three ships for adults only. Saga Cruises, Voyages of Discovery, Voyages to Antiquity and Cruise & Maritime Voyages might be right for you.
Viking Ocean Cruises is the perfect pick if you prefer and more upscale cruise line.

These are just some examples for you to consider.

There is a cruise line, ship and itinerary for everyone and we would be happy to find the right one for you. Let's have a chat to find the right one for your next grand voyage.
